THOUGHT: Anti-War argument

~ The following argument was suggested to me by a remark that my son, five years old at the time, made concerning being an "Army man." Though an avid computer military game player, he had NO interest in becoming a soldier when I asked him about it.
~ "Dad!" He exclaimed. "Army men die ALL THE TIME!!!" He deduced, after many hours of sending them into virtual battle against various computer enemies.
~ This suggests the following argument, which seems not so crazy to me:

1. Any event where lots of death occurs is very bad.
2. War is an event where lots off death occurs.
3. .:. War is very bad. [1,2]

4. Very bad things should be avoided.
5. War should be avoided. [3,4]

Why am I doing a blog?

I don't maintain a personal web page, because they seem more work than they are worth. But blogging software seems to do all the tedious work for me. I want to have some information in the public arena. So it looks like this blogger.com site is the best way to accomplish that goal. I also think it's a fine thing to put forward some personal thoughts for people who might want to know a bit more about what makes me tick. I have plenty of students who think I'm a bit, uh, "out there." I'm a human. No really. Really! I am!

I've also become interested in doing some popularized philosophy voice blogging, so part of this is an experiment to see if that can happen easily.
